Summary/Abstract: Over and above the habit of making children the privileged recipients of La Fontaine’s Fables, we would like to demonstrate - by attempting to take distance from contemporary representations while using a framework of a historically informed approach - that nothing seems as unlikely as the idea that the fabulist really sought to compose his work for the youngest.
