Summary/Abstract: By definition, statistical literacy can be defined as one’s capability to apply mathematics in a variety of problems, especially the capacity to undertake statistical reasoning and to utilize statistical concepts, procedures, and facts to describe statistical phenomena. The results of a study conducted by PISA demonstrate that literacies in reading, mathematics, statistics and -science are still low. The findings also illustrate the fact that some countries still have low statistical literacy. In other words, the level of statistical understanding is largely uncritical. The lack of statistical education research is one of the reasons why statistical curriculum studies have been lacking to this end. A comprehensive analysis of statistical literacy research is needed. Moreover, it is also important to create a list of the most dominant terms in statistical literacy research. In this systematic review, research trends were mapped using PRISMA, Bibliometrics, and VOSviewer visualization. Furthermore, the study findings reveal the distribution of literature on statistical literacy starting from 2000-2024, the highest citation level, the main topics, and the methods of teaching statistics that affect the blossoming of research regarding in education. Additionally, the current research is expected to be the cornerstone of teaching methods that can contribute to the development of statistical literacy, and also as a foundation for the next research topic on the same theme
