Summary/Abstract: The aim of this work is to analyze how Mostar is depicted in the collection of short stories Izvještaji iz tamnog vilajeta (2007) by Dževad Karahasan. It will be discussed how individual spaces, from the family house to symbols of the city such as the Old Bridge function in Karahasan’s prose Izvještaji iz tamnog vilajeta, whose nature is intertextual and focused on a conversation with other authors, their work, as well as overall forms of culture where mechanisms of memory and forgetting are very vivid.
