Summary/Abstract: Modern 3D modeling technologies and geoinformatics have become pivotal tools in civil engineering research. This study explores the creation of accurate 3D building models using dense point clouds captured by drones, comparing their precision to traditional measurement methods. Dimensions were measured with a tape measure, laser, and 3D modeling software. Analytical techniques, including linear regression, mean absolute deviation, standard deviation, and Welch’s t-test, assessed the accuracy and reliability of the drone-based models. Results indicate that drones and 3D models provide a highly effective and accurate means of capturing building dimensions, with an average deviation of 0.46% compared to traditional methods.
