Summary/Abstract: The European Communities’ State of Mind during the WWII. Our paper will focus on the state of mind of the European communities in Tunisia which oscillated between enthusiasm, fear and pragmatism. How did these communities experience the atmosphere of the first moments of the War? And how did the different phases of the war impact their situation in Tunisia? In this context, we will not study the Second World War as a historical event, but rather we will look at its impact on the European communities settled in Tunis.
