Summary/Abstract: Victimization, violence, and suffering. Victimization and violence multiply wounded and confronted memories. Therefore it is not a question here of privileging the victims, of moving from victim to victim, from women to colonized natives, from impoverished Fellahs to exploited workers, nor of to make models or to identify with them. What is important, is to restore historical dignity to those who were colonized and to question what the elites did with the cultural goods “put” at their disposal. It is also about evoking the different forms of violence and proposing a reflection on a new humanism.
