Summary/Abstract: In Romania, transportation infrastructure, especially airports, is essential for economic development and connectivity. However, financial and administrative challenges require a careful assessment of financing options such as public-private partnerships (PPP), European funds, bank loans and concessions. The success of these financing options depends on several factors such as political stability, legislative framework and institutional capacity. This paper analyzes the impact of financing options on the implementation of infrastructure projects - a case study at an airport in Romania. In doing so, financial and project documents, governance policies, and reports on the access and absorption of European funds will be examined to identify the key factors influencing the efficiency and sustainability of infrastructure projects. The article seeks to provide concrete recommendations for optimizing financing options, considering both current challenges and emerging opportunities, so as to maximize benefits for local communities and the national economy.
