Summary/Abstract: This article uses unpublished documents from the Archive of Social-Political Organizations of the Republic of Moldova, the former archive of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Moldavia, in order to identify and describe the main tendencies of the Cold War in the Moldavian SSR in the period from 1970 to 1980. The decade presented in this study is characterized by multiple and multi-level changes both within capitalist and socialist systems. In this context, the periphery became the main arena for the Cold War and a place where the concept of boundaries between the two rival systems underwent significant changes.
