IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGES WITH REFERENCE TO THE SITUATION IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

Summary/Abstract: Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing all of humanity today because it affects all aspects of the environment and the economy, and threatens the sustainable development of society. The fact that climate change affects the frequency and intensity of extreme events, ie. on the basis of previous researches, an increasing variability of the climate in all seasons has been observed. Rapid and intense changes occur in short periods of time - from extremely cold to warm weather conditions or from periods of extremely extensive precipitation to dry periods. The adoption of a series of international resolutions and agreements, as well as the scientific and political consensus that climate change is already occurring to a significant extent, points to all of this. Climate change is not just a future problem, but something that is happening today, affecting traditional development models and having serious economic impacts. The negative consequences of climate change are already visible in Bosnia and Herzegovina, although it contributes slightly to the causes of climate change at the global level.
