Education and its role in the contemporary context

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this study is to discuss about the topic of education and the way in which education is carried in the contemporary world. By approaching this topic of education, we highlighted the essential role the religious education has in the personal and social development. As many authors showed, education is what develops human personality, being an essential condition of human existence, a vital necessity for social development, as it ensures a continuous connection between generations. The conclusion of the study is that education must adapt itself to the requirements of the contemporary society, despite the obstacles it meets, also considering the perennial values. Education is invited to prepare, in an active, constructive, and dynamic manner the future generation for them to face the challenges of the future and to enjoy a peaceful and harmonious life. Of course, this topic regarding the role of education is in a continuous change and the related problem is diverse, I only succeeded in discussing some aspects and to show their value in the limited setting of this study. However, the problem of education remains a current subject and open for research to find the solutions and means necessary to obtain the desired results especially in the context of the current pandemics.
