Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to present innovation and business centres and their role in the innovation policy of the state. The paper is divided into two parts. In the first part of the article the author describes problems referring to the concept of the innovation policy. The second part concentrates on the meaning of innovation and business centres in the innovation policy in Poland.
