Summary/Abstract: In this paper we scrutinise the claim that interventions arising from positive psychology are always justified in and of themselves (Duckworth, Steen & Seligman, 2005). We claim that it is not morally justifiable for public funding bodies, charged with increasing community wellbeing, to support life enhancement/coaching practises over therapeutic practises. To support this claim we establish intuitive, theoretical, and pragmatic arguments.
