Generation and ‘spirit of time’

Summary/Abstract: Vulcănescu unravelled in the structures of culture a more or less organized organism whose role was, among other things, to establish criteria in order to provide culture with a certain degree of rationality and order. ‘Generation’ was and somewhat remained such an ordering tool. In this essay, the author investigates Vulcănescu’s idea of generation in relation to the idea of a ‘new spirituality’ that animated the thinking of his time.
