Summary/Abstract: Prayer is - according to St. John Of The Ladder - the one which holds the world, and we cannot exclude our neighbor from it. The Deeds - as Our Savior Jesus Christ says in the Gospels - are the ones who tip the scales at the Final Judgement in the nearness of God, or in the alienation of Him. Those two, the prayer and the deeds, together, by our neighbor light, grinds him for the contemporary daily, updates the template of the authentic 2000 years old Christian life, and for those who experience this update, there are the Gospel’s heavenly words of Christ: „Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord” (Matthew 25:21). The way that the great scholar, N. Steinhardt, the Jewish who converted to Orthodoxy, has surprised this update in his works is truly remarkable because of his open reference to the synergy between prayer and deeds.
