Summary/Abstract: Based on relevant literature, the paper presents the origin of the Old Catholic Church and the Croatian Old Catholic Church, and based on archival material in the Đakovo-Osijek archdiocese, it sheds light on the causes of the transition of Catholics to the Old Catholic Church in the interwar period from 1923 to 1941. The hostile attitude of the Ustasha authorities towards the Old Catholic Church led to the fact that 336 Old Catholics asked to return to the Catholic Church
