Summary/Abstract: Protestantism exerted considerable influence in the Slovene area. In the form of Evangelical faith of the Augsburg confession, Protestantism has survived in Slovenia mainly in the Prekmurje region. In both literature and everyday life, Protestantism left a mark on ecclesiastical architecture. Protestantism advocated simplicity and plainness, thereby seeking the best in people, and the attendant guidelines for designing religious buildings are the same – plain and simple. A unique example of this is the first church of the Bodonci relgious community, erected in 1792, which is analysed in this contribution. Almost all vestiges of this structure, significant from various points of view, have been lost, which has been the fate of many similar monuments.
