Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the circumstances that preceded and led to the peace treaty concluded on 27 September 1186, after the war of grand župan Stefan Nemanja and his brothers against the Ragusans, as well as those that followed it. It is the first preserved international treaty between the Serbian state and the commune of Ragusa, which in the mentioned period was under the suzerainty of the Norman kings of Sicily. For a clearer understanding of these events, the edition includes a translation of the treaty into the modern Serbian language.
