Summary/Abstract: The article is the first analysis of the “Wnętrze” (Interior) album, containing residential interior furnishing designs by Zbigniew Otfinowski, graduate of the School of Decorative Arts and Artistic Industry in Krakow. The album, stored in the National Archives in Krakow, was probably created in the mid-1930s. The furniture designs were intended for the homes of middle-class clients. They were part of the Art Deco style, which at that time was characterized by a departure from decoration and the use of geometric forms, as well as impressive veneers. The text also shows that designs from almost a hundred years ago can still be implemented or provide inspiration. In the early 2020s, the Art Deco style has regained some popularity in residential furniture, accessories and interior design. Designers propose arrangements that are intended to reflect the atmosphere of those times, furniture companies produce furniture styled after such equipment or create their replicas, trade in authentic period furniture is also flourishing, and there are suggestions on how to arrange original Art Deco equipment in contemporary interiors. In this context, the “Wnętrze” album can provide inspiration for people who would like to arrange their apartment in the Art Deco style and are looking for furniture designs that specialist companies can use to make the equipment. Today, it may also be a template used by companies producing replicas of Art Deco furniture.
