Summary/Abstract: The author of historical novels set in Krakow in the 16th century uses numerous works showing the life of the inhabitants and the functioning of the city authorities at that time. Writing about Krakow of the Young Poland period at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, despite the popularity of this era, the author is forced to check in the archives the realities regarding the work of the Austrian police, with authenticity an asset of the novel.
