Carbon risk − concept and measurement

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to investigate academic literature as well as financial and consulting institution elaborations to establish definitions and methods of measurement of so-called carbon risk. It has been noted that there is not a single carbon risk. Instead the definition division in two facets: narrow and wide carbon risks has been proposed. Risk areas and channels of impact on shareholder value have been identified as for the universal owner. Mostly used measures have been summarized. Additionally a summary of the calculations for the most vulnerable sectors of Polish industry has been presented.
