Summary/Abstract: The primary catalyst for initiating digital transformation in the construction sector is the concept encapsulated by the acronym BIM (Building Information Modeling). An increasing number of companies, investors, designers, users, universities, and others are adopting this concept in their investments, business activities, services, and operational management of facilities. The BIM concept directly correlates with the broader concept of smart and urban cities. This article aims to explore the role of BIM and GeoBIM concepts in the lifecycle management of buildings.
