Summary/Abstract: This article deals with the attitude shown towards Hungarians by some Romanian writers form the period of national communism. Passages from the writings of Adrian Păunescu, Corneliu Vadim Tudor and Ion Lăncrănjan are analyzed. Demonizing the Hungarian enemy served as a useful ideological diversion for the Ceaușescu regime.
