Summary/Abstract: Transnational adoption presents a range of legal, social and ethical challenges that test the traditional boundaries of family law. This article explores the complex landscape of intercountry adoptions, examining the legislative intersections between various national regulations, the role of international treaties such as the Hague Convention, and the delicate balance between child protection, family integrity and national sovereignty. Through a comparative analysis of adoption policies in different jurisdictions, the article identifies major issues such as jurisdictional conflicts, differences in eligibility criteria for adoption and associated risks. The psycho-social effects on adopted children, adoptive parents and biological families are also analyzed, emphasizing the need for ethical and culturally sensitive practices. The study proposes reforms to promote transparency, ethical standards and cross-border cooperation to protect the best interests of the child while respecting the cultural and legal diversity of the countries involved. By addressing these complexities, the article aims to contribute to an evolving debate that prioritizes the welfare of adopted children in an increasingly globalized legal context.
