Summary/Abstract: In this Article we have dialed with the history of the creation of the Albanian colony of Borgo Erizzo in Zadar, Croatia). Despite the fact that in foreign literature, especially in the Croatian language, but also in the Italian and German languages, there are already data about the Arbanasi-Community of Zara, almost very little has been written about it in the Albanian historical literature, and this article aims to cover this void. In the first part, we provided data on the social political circumstances that existed in Albania during the late 17th and early 18th centuries, a period that coincides with the time when Albanians fled from certain provinces that were villages with a Catholic population (mainly in Shestan) and their eventual settlement in Zadar, Croatia. This Albanians first passed through Kotor and other stations of Albania Veneta (in today Montenegro). In the first part, we paid special attention to the provinces from which the Albanians (Arbanasi) of Zadar originated. That is, the parishes of Shestan and Brisk and the parishes of the Diocese of Shkodra. We gave the reasons that made the Albanians of those areas leave their lands of origin. The second part of the article dealt with the waves of escape of those groups, who later created the Arbëreshëvi colonies of Zara, and gave some data on their further fates and their families. Regarding the great influence and activity that the Archbishop of Zara had at that time, Vinçens Zmajevic, in the process of this migration, in the reception and in the settlement of these Albanians in Zara, it will be discussed in another article that is already in the process of preparation, because the contribution of this archbishop in the creation of the Arbëresh colony is of special importance and requires special attention.
