Summary/Abstract: Linear economy as a one-way business model when it comes to the use of resources is a classic form of most national economics. Circular economy represents the process of resource circulation and its reuse, which simultaneously uses much less energy. NR China and the European Union have made the greatest progress in this turn, and the regulations for the implementation of the model at the national and supranational level it represents a challenge for the relevant subjects of other countries. The goal of this paper is to emphasize the importance of preserving natural resources for the next generations, with better living conditions for the wider social community. The importance of considering the current topic is reflected in the necessity of designing a longterm sustainable development concept on the platform of the circular economy in the countries of the Western Balkans subregion.
