Summary/Abstract: Introduction: Every major change in conditions is a disaster in its own way. But with joint efforts, people survived situations that at first glance appeared to be deadly, associated with a permanent change in conditions. All the events that negatively affect the life of the society reveal how important the security literacy of the population is. Without a fundamental change in the education of healthcare workers at undergraduate and postgraduate level, it will not be possible to ensure adequate care while protecting the life and health of the population. The presented publication points to the complexity of the issue. Core of work: It provides a legislative overview of statutory standards on crisis management in healthcare in the event of an emergency. It points to the necessity to ensure the teaching of the subject of disaster medicine in all health professions in undergraduate and postgraduate education. Education in the field of crisis management of healthcare during emergencies is an inherent part of the course. For the correct response of the healthcare system, it is essential that healthcare workers are theoretically prepared and have the necessary information in the field of disaster medicine and crisis management. Conclusions: In the presented short overview of the complex issue related to the protection of life, health and property of the population, we tried to point out the need for fundamental changes in the training of health workers at the undergraduate and postgraduate level so that the management of emergency situations by health workers and their integration into an integrated rescue system were for the benefit of affected pat.
