Summary/Abstract: The essay deals with the Albanian Council “Kuvendi i Arbrit” that was hold in 1703 and the contribute of the Pope of Albanian origin Clement XI, Albani (1700-1721) and Vinçenc or Vicko Zmajević for its organisation and the approval of the decrees for the Albanian Catholic Church and the Albanian question of spreading the light of wisdom and the Albanian language and culture by means of setting up schools. The Albanian edition of 1706 served as the basis of the canon law and as one of the ancient Albanian texts, that together with the first Albanian grammar was in use for the education in the colleges. The cultural and national awakening that preceded the Renaissance that begun by the Pope Clement XI went on with the Pope Clement XII, Corsini (1730-1740), who opened the Arberesh Colleges of San Benedetto Ullano of Cosenza and Palermo in Sicilia and the Pope Benedict XIV (1740-1758) who reconfirmed these decrees.
