Summary/Abstract: The former chief architect of Cluj-Napoca, the visionary behind countless high-quality buildings in Cluj and throughout Transylvania, was, beyond his local historical significance, at that time primarily known as the preserver, surveyor, and recorder of the city’s medieval and early modern Gothic and Renaissance landmarks. His works in the historicizing architectural style, however, were not yet included in the canon by the mid-20th century in our region.
