Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to analyze the image of women in satirical epigrams from calendars written by Stanisław Niewieski (ca. 1645–1699), professor of physics, mathematics and medicine, rector of the Zamość Academy. His calendars are distinguished from others by the large number of short poems on social and moral themes, most of which concern women. Despite the growing interest in women’s issues, these texts have not yet been analyzed in terms of showing women in them. The article analyzes Niewieski’s texts, presents what content inspired his work, and compares it with other examples of Polish anti-woman satire of 17th century.
