Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to a conflict within the Zamoyski family in the early 1620s. Anna Zamoyska (née Wiśniowiecka), widow of the Crown Field Warden and Castellan of Chełm Jan Zamoyski, was accused of sending witches to Zamość to cast a spell on Katarzyna Zamoyska (née Ostrogska), wife of the Voivode of Kiev Tomasz Zamoyski, so that she would become sterile. In this way, Anna Zamoyska, allegedly wanted to ensure that her sons took over the Zamoyski Family Entail after the heirless death of Tomasz Zamoyski. Members of the Zamoyski and Wiśniowiecki families became involved in the conflict, defending or accusing the widow of the Castellan of Chełm. The birth of the children of Tomasz Zamoyski and his wife made it possible to forget the accusations levelled against Anna Zamoyska. However, after the death of Jan ‘Sobiepan’ Zamoyski, the 3rd Entailer of Zamość, they resurfaced, serving as a propaganda fight between potential heirs to the Zamoyski Family Entail.
