On the Feast of Religious Freedom

Summary/Abstract: To those of you who have come to Torda today, and to those who are celebrating with us in front of the screens, the 455th anniversary of the proclamation of the Law of Religious Freedom. I quoted this poem because I know it evokes memories and feelings in every Unitarian soul as deep-rooted as they are in mine. Let us allow this atmosphere to transport us back to where the idea of religious freedom was raised to the heights of significant ecclesiastical and national events! Let us allow the pride to revive in us that we, the celebrants today, are the descendants of those heroes who, following the teachings of Dávid Ferenc, sought the pure teachings of Jesus and with them served the glory of God and the upliftment of mankind.
