Summary/Abstract: We always have a different emotional attitude towards people and objects, we emotionally and overestimate them according to how we perceive them. This emotional response finds external expression in word formation through suffixes for emotional evaluation. With those endings, one conveys belittlement, condescension, or something opposite, such as exaggeration, revulsion, mockery, irony, etc. (Koneski, 2021:255). The purpose of this paper is to present the diminutive in the German and Macedonian languages, to show the morphological rules for its formation in both the Macedonian and German languages, and through the analysis of the diminutive forms used in selected fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm to determine whether they have been transferred in their entirety or have been replaced by other alternatives in the Macedonian translation. Keywords: should include 4-6 key words that summarize the contents of the paper
