Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on Mila Elin’s poetic and biographical strategies of disappearing, namely becoming a shadow, growing accustomed to the dark setting of everyday life withits alienating feelings, along with micro-gestures based on obliterating her traces. Thetext describes the unclear status of Mila Elin as a correspondent-lyrical archive of sadnessand helplessness incongruent with the Krakow avant-garde and mentions the potentialfor loss – to history and one’s own loneliness. Borsuk wonders whether in the thicket ofcirculating negativities appears a chance for an intimate community to be formed byasking whether self-ghettoization is a strategy of setting boundaries, an unwillingnessto be in constant overwhelming dependence on others?
