Summary/Abstract: This present study tries to realize a presentation of the events at the local level during and immediately after the legionary riot from 21-23 January 1941, events that marked the end of the national legionary regime. The first part of the material shortly presents the development of the legionary riot both in Alba Iulia as well as the whole territory of the county, presentation that also made in a study published by the author in Annales Universitatis Apulensis, Seria Historica, 10/I, 2006, p. 241-249. Pursuing the heads of the legionaries, the help received by these from the German troops under whose protection they succeded to leave the country and run away from law, judging the participants in the events from January 1941 as well as the punishments received by them are guide marks in continuing the study, the last part being dedicated to some aspects concerning the continuation of the legionary activity along 1941. Two days after the events from 21-23 January ended, five of the legionary leaders asked for protection to the German troops and left Alba Iulia, being sheltered in the building of the Evangelical Gymnasium from Sebes, then, after a short stop in Sibiu, under the protection of the German soldiers, they were passesd the borders; the names of some of them being remebered among the 310 legionaries interned in the concentration camps from Germany. Members of the movement and those who participated in the revolt were arrested and condemned to different punishments for facts like: crime of rebellion, crime of armed insurrection, instigation and participation at revolt, robbery and public danger by destroying the means of communication, the majority of those discovered and mentioned in the archive material being from rural areas: Vintul de Jos, Ciumbrud, Cacovita, Cioara, Sasciori, Mihalt. If the archive was poor in mentioning those condemned from urban areas, with regard to their supervision we have a list of 94 persons from Alba Iulia, Aiud, Sebes si Abrud. The socio-professional environments where the members of the Iron Guard came from or participated in the revolt are diverse: lawyers, teachers, schoolmasters, civil servants but also peasants, workers or persons without occupation. The supervision reports of the Police along 1941 evidence the fact that there was a certain activity of the movement, weak obviously, withouth alarming the authorities, but echoes of the events from January 1941 were still felt and the sympathizers of the Legion hoped that general Antonescu will reprieve and regain them power.
