Summary/Abstract: In terms of notarial activity, the rectification procedure is the most handy tool to turn back time and correct material errors or obvious omissions in notarial acts. This paper analyzes this procedure to check if the way it was outlined by the legislator in 1995 is able to meet current needs, after almost 30 years of application. The framework that derives from Law no. 36/1995 and the Regulation on the application of this law is, in our opinion, very flexible, allowing the adoption of various steps by the public notary and the use of new IT solutions, such as documents in electronic form and electronic signature.
