Summary/Abstract: Professional literature shows that certain modifiable behaviors in lifestyle, such as diet, physical activity, leisure time, and rest, are risk factors for decreased quality of life. In other words, neglecting these vital aspects of life leads, in chain, to the impairment of physical and mental health. Self-care behaviors, management of physical and mental resources are affected by personal psychological characteristics, with locus of control playing a central role. Research has been marked by the idea that dietary behavior (nutrition), alongside its specific existential roles (roles of growth and development, maturation, and survival), is significantly linked to other important dimensions of physical and mental life (locus of control, self-attitude, professional activity, physical and emotional regulation activities - such as engaging in physical activities and rest). To collect data in support of the formulated hypothesis, we administered two questionnaires (lifestyle questionnaire and locus of control questionnaire) to a sample of 219 teachers from pre-university education.
