Summary/Abstract: Although it may seem that the three paradoxes I deal with in this paper have nothing in common, I believe that they all involve an equivocation of the same kind. The first is known as the ‘direct argument’, the second is one of the standard arguments for fatalism, and the third is McGee’s counterexample to modus ponens.
