Summary/Abstract: In the early 21st century there is a practical (although informal and unofficial) collusion between the state and the Church in Serbia. The process has been described in academic as well as expert and journalistic circles as comprehensive clericalization. Even though a similar process has occurred in other states as well (primarily Russia), clericalization of Serbia has shown some characteristic, distinguishing elements. The paper analyzes precisely those elements of state clericalization that impact on security and violence in Serbia.
