Summary/Abstract: The author of this paper refers to the motive, as a theme that links a certain ethnic space of Macedonia, namely Ohrid and Struga with specific features. A selection and review from an aesthetic aspect is given of the best works of the founders of the contemporary Macedonian painting, as well as those of the older generation: Pandilov, Licenoski, Martinoski, Vladimirski and Kodjoman, which were inspired by Ohrid, Struga and the lake. In this context the author percieved their affinity and their admiration for these motives and themes, having in mind the individual style and the characteristic artistic signature.
