Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to show the truth that God, out of His great love, does not leave man alone in this world, but is his counsellor, his Saviour, his companion, the One who will never, under any circumstances, abandon him. On the basis of Cardinal Cantalamessa’s publications, some of his most important reflections on these issues have been presented. In particular, it has been shown how modern man can come to know better the truth about himself, about his purpose, about his mission, because on this path of life he can be guided by the Lord Jesus. One of the conditions for hearing and recognising the voice of God is a new and pure heart. This heart is given and formed by the Holy Spirit, and therefore man should simply allow Him to guide himself and do whatever He tells him, whatever He encourages him to do, in everyday life, when all is well and in difficult situations. Although the choice is always behind man, whether he chooses the Lord God or not.
