CERTAIN CONSIDERATIONS ON THE LEGISLATIVE CHANGES REGARDING THE PROCESSES OF ACQUISITION AND LOSS OF ROMANIAN CITIZENSHIP

Summary/Abstract: The right to citizenship is one of the fundamental human rights that has aroused the interest of specialists and researchers in the field. The present article continues the author's effort of knowledge, an effort that has materialized in studies and articles whose theme has focused on the concept of citizenship. In this work, the author makes a brief analysis of the main legislative amendments adopted in the last year, either enacted, such as the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 100/2024 and the Order of the Ministry of Justice no. 1726/C/2024 for the approval of the organizational chart of the National Authority for Citizenship, or not enacted, as in the case of the new Romanian citizenship law, which is the subject of a constitutional challenge raised by the High Court of Cassa¬tion and Justice.
