Statistical Analysis Of The Population Health Status In Bulgaria

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this research paper is to identify trends and patterns in Bulgaria’s population health status in the period 2010-2022 using statistical methods. The system of indicators for characterizing the population health status is described and the informational aspects of its statistical research in Bulgaria have been presented. By means of descriptive indicators, trends towards an increase in mortality and hospitalizations by disease classes have been established. Trends have been modeled with a straight line and a segmented linear trend, respectively. Very strong differences have been found between the patterns of deaths by cause and hospitalizations by disease classes. The predominant determinant of mortality by causes of death is the circulatory system diseases; however, changes in the age structure of hospitalizations from these diseases are weak.
