Types of Semantic Relationships in the Normative Text

Summary/Abstract: Each language system is determined by two factors: the first of them is a set of terms forming lexis whereas the second comprises the collection of relationships building syntax. The aim of this article is the attempt to analyze semantic relationship types of vocabulary in the text of the normative character on the basis of the French civil code. For this purpose, the description of the hypernymous and meronymous relationship, typical for specialist corpora will be presented. On this basis we will try to analyse selected corpus and demonstrate that the knowledge of the abovementioned semantic relations between the words-forming part of one semantic field is essential both for a lawyer and a linguist to avoid any conceptual inaccuracies.
