Summary/Abstract: In this study, a comparison was made between OECD countries that have achieved success in the PISA exam and Turkey regarding the current status of preschool education. Document review, one of the qualitative research methods, was used as a method in the study. Criterion sampling method, one of the purposeful sampling methods, was used to create the study group. Being among the top 10 countries in reading, science and mathematics in the 2018 OECD PISA program results was accepted as a criterion. Japan, Finland, Estonia and South Korea, which were among the top 10 countries in reading, science and mathematics in the 2018 OECD PISA program results, and Turkey, which was the country to be compared, were determined as five countries. The data were analyzed using the descriptive analysis method. In the study, schooling rates, the time children spent in school, the number of students per teacher and the amount of money spent per child were compared. As a result, Turkey was found to be behind OECD countries in almost all of the research questions.
