Summary/Abstract: The article presents the attitude of the ideologically and programmatically heterogeneous Ukrainian independence underground during the breakthrough and final period of World War II with regards to the Polish question. The analysis covers the activities of the nationalist trend in the Polish section, which was represented by two factions of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) – Stepan Bandera (OUN-B) and Andriy Melnyk (OUN-M), and that of Taras Borovets, pseudonym Bulba (Ukrainian Insurgent Army /UPA/ B-B/UNRA), referring to the tradition of the republican-democratic Ukrainian People’s Republic (UNR).
