A New Interactive Digital Map of Bulgarian Diplomacy from 1878 to 1914

Summary/Abstract: This article presents the first of its kind digital interactive mapping project of the modern Bulgarian diplomatic service from 1878 to 1914, titled “Mapping the Bulgarian Foreign Service”. The article places the project in the context of digital humanitarian studies, analyses its place in the historiographic discussions regarding the development of Bulgarian diplomacy, highlights some perspectives and challenges for the future of the project, as well as that of the field of digital humanities in Bulgaria.
