Summary/Abstract: The presented research focuses on issues related to the depiction of intangible works of artin Old Polish literature. The discussion centres on 17th-century memoir writing, exploringboth its possibilities and its genre-specific limitations. The study examines descriptionsof dance included in the itinerary of Stefan Pac, who accompanied Prince Władysław Vasaon his grand tour. Based on an analysis of passages detailing both the artistic dance-theaterperformances witnessed by the entourage and the social gatherings where participants engagedin utilitarian-social dances, a schema for constructing a typical description of this formof movement, as recorded in Pac’s diary, is identified. Each component of this description issubjected to further reflection.
