Summary/Abstract: Lifelong learning is one of the principles of Islam. If we look at the Noble Qur'an, we will find this principle in many of its verses, such as: "O my Lord, I have increased knowledge" (Taha:114); then the verse "Are those who know and those who do not know equal?! Only wise people accept advice" (Ez Zumer: 9). In addition, many prophetic sayings emphasize the importance and value of learning. Among them, we can single out the hadith of the Prophet, peace be upon him, in which he says: "He who leaves the house for the purpose of seeking knowledge, in reality is counted as a person who has gone out for the sake of Allah and will be considered as such until he returns." The best examples we have are the early generations of scholars and those after them. In continuation, we come across those who have made many sacrifices just to be able to acquire some knowledge, to learn knowledge. If we look at Islamic history, we notice that the commitment of Muslims to knowledge was not only in the religious field, but also in other sciences and knowledge. The Faculty of Islamic Studies is an independent educational and research-scientific institution, which organizes university studies and postgraduate for students interested in benefiting from the field of Islamic theology. The strategy of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, through the organization of university and post-graduate studies, is to distribute knowledge and contemporary knowledge through teaching, studies and research activities, as well as to educate cadres of different levels. With this paper, we aim to clarify the value and importance of lifelong learning as well as the practices that FSI offers in the field of theological studies in Kosovo and beyond. Lifelong learning is one of the fundamental principles of Islam. When we look at the Noble Qur'an, we find this principle reflected in many of its verses, such as: "O my Lord, increase me in knowledge" (Taha: 114), and the verse: "Are those who know equal to those who do not know? Only those with understanding will take heed" (Az-Zumar: 9). Additionally, many prophetic sayings emphasize the importance and value of learning. Among them is the hadith of the Prophet, peace be upon him, which states: "Whoever leaves his home in pursuit of knowledge is considered as someone who has gone out for the sake of Allah, and will be regarded as such until his return." The best examples come from the early generations of scholars and those who followed them. Many individuals made significant sacrifices just to acquire knowledge. If we examine Islamic history, we notice that Muslims' commitment to knowledge was not limited to religious fields but extended to other sciences as well. The Faculty of Islamic Studies is an independent educational and research institution that organizes both undergraduate and postgraduate programs for students interested in the field of Islamic theology. The Faculty’s strategy, through the organization of university and postgraduate studies, is to disseminate knowledge, including contemporary knowledge, through teaching, studies, and research activities, as well as to educate personnel at various levels. This paper aims to highlight the value and importance of lifelong learning, as well as the practices offered by the Faculty of Islamic Studies in the field of theological studies in Kosovo and beyond.
