Decolonizing Social Work. An Analysis of Theory from the Perspective of Legitimation Code Theory

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to discuss the main theories of decolonisation in the field of socialwork, their analysis and classification based on the Legitimation Code Theory. Conclusionswill refer to possible ways for decolonisation in the analysed field of knowledge produc-tion. The text is based on the concept of decolonisation in the field of social work theoryand practice understood as a global profession. The idea of Legitimation Code Theoryis introduced with which theoretical perspectives in the field of decolonising social work areanalysed. The conclusions concern the possible development of the decolonisation processin the field of integrating and separating theoretical inspirations.
