Summary/Abstract: This article introduces Rivka Kwiatkowski-Pinachsik`s documentary and literary response to the Holocaust by considering her early post-war writings about the activities of the Zionist youth movement Gordonia in the Łódź ghetto and one example of her literary response. Both reactions by the Yiddish writer, who has remained relatively unnoticed in research, aim to show the bravery of passive resistance, as her contemporary Yiddish writer Mordechai H. Kroshnitz calls it, and to address those who cannot comprehend the conditions and atmosphere that prevailed in the ghettos and camps. In three stories presented about the life in the Łódź ghetto, this is done, through critically examining gender roles and by exploring the role shifts between adolescent children and adults.
